Swan U16SR Pearls versus Bs - Saturday 25th September.

The new Pearls squad took to the court yesterday for their first South Regional match after a very successful Qualifying Tournament two weeks ago.

We travelled to St Neot’s Prep School to face Bs, a team none of us had ever met on court before. With only 8 players and reverting to 15 minute Qs for the first time in over a year, we knew it was going to be a tough match.

Bs started strong and we quickly realised we’d have to stay solid and work together well as a new team. Our defensive circle was so resilient in what was a very physically demanding first two Qs, never giving up and keeping their heads up; the score at half time was 33-15 to Bs.

After a good team talk at half time and some encouraging words from Jackie, we dug deep and entered the third Q with a renewed sense of determination… our shooting stats were high and although tiredness was definitely a factor, we won both the third and fourth Qs. The final score was a win to Bs 51-35.
